Imports, FX and VAT, booked right first time.
USD and EUR supplier bills booked in AED, import VAT under reverse charge mapped to Box 6 and Box 10, receivables chased. Built for UAE traders.
Cross-border is your business. Not your bookkeeping problem.
Supplier bills come in USD, EUR and CNY, and every one is converted by hand. With Rami: Hana reads foreign-currency bills and books them in AED at the rate for the bill date, keeping the original currency for payment.
Import VAT under the reverse charge is easy to get wrong, and expensive when you do. With Rami: Layla puts imported goods in Box 6 and the matching recovery in Box 10, so the reverse charge nets out instead of becoming a cost.
Forty customers, some on 90-day terms, some simply slow, and no clear view of who owes what. With Rami: Sami drafts statements and reminders on your terms, and Noor matches payments as they land, so receivables are current every morning.
A month with Rami
From the first imported bill to a revalued, closed month.
Day 1, Amal: History imported. Bring your books from Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks or Excel. Amal maps customers, suppliers and open balances.
Day 4, Hana: Foreign bills booked. Supplier bills in any currency are read, converted to AED and queued for approval with the supplier’s details.
Day 9, Noor: Every currency reconciled. AED and foreign-currency accounts are matched, and settlement differences are posted as FX gains or losses.
Day 16, Sami: Receivables on schedule. Overdue customers get a reminder you approved. Payments are matched to the right invoices automatically.
Day 28, Layla: Reverse charge in the right boxes. Imports, exports and domestic reverse-charge purchases are mapped box by box on your VAT 201 draft.
Day 30, Rami: Revalued and closed. Rami runs the month-end FX revaluation on open foreign balances, then closes the books with you.
VAT rules every trader meets
Import, export and reverse-charge rules for UAE trading companies, as of October 2026.
Imports: Import VAT through your return. VAT-registered importers declare import VAT in Box 6 and recover it in Box 10, subject to the normal rules. Since 1 Jan 2026 no self-invoice is required, but keep the supporting documents.
Exports: Zero-rated, if the goods leave in time. Exports outside the GCC are zero-rated when the goods leave within 90 days of supply and you hold customs and commercial evidence. Otherwise VAT is due at 5%.
Domestic reverse charge: Electronics, gold and scrap. Trading electronic devices, gold and precious metals or metal scrap between UAE registrants? The buyer accounts for the VAT, and the seller leaves it off their return.
E-invoicing: Every B2B sale, electronic. Trading companies sell mostly B2B, so nearly every invoice is in scope. Under AED 50 million revenue: appoint a provider by 31 Mar 2027 and go live on 1 Jul 2027.
